National Honor Society
The Mark T. Sheehan Edward J. Kosinski Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) is open to students who meet the required standards of scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Students are selected for membership by the Faculty Selection Council, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the Sheehan faculty. Students who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the end of their sophomore or junior year, are academically eligible to apply for membership. We will send out an email to the student indicating their invitation to apply and a letter to all families of eligible students.
Students will create a package that showcases how the values of character, leadership and service play and important role in their lives. Through an anonymous process, the Faculty Selection Council rates each package and selects the new inductees based upon their collective findings. New members are inducted in November in a ceremony at the school.
Students or parents who have questions regarding the selection process or membership obligations can contact the chapter advisor, Dr. Nicholas Ives at nives@wallingfordschools.org
